THE CAMEL AND A JACKAL

Once upon a time, near a wide river, there lived a friendly camel named Kamil and a clever jackal named Juno. Although they were very different, they were good friends.
One hot afternoon, Juno smelled ripe melons growing in a field across the river.
"Those melons must be delicious!" said Juno. "But I can't swim across the river. Will you carry me on your back, Kamil?"
Kamil smiled. "Of course, my friend."
The camel knelt down, and the jackal climbed onto his back. Together they crossed the river and reached the melon field. They ate sweet, juicy melons until their bellies were full.
Suddenly, Juno began to howl loudly.
"Awooo! Awooo!"5

"Stop!" whispered Kamil. "The farmer will hear us!"
"I can't help it," replied Juno. "After a good meal, I always sing."
The farmer heard the noise and came running with a stick. Juno quickly slipped into the bushes and escaped. Poor Kamil, being

large and slow, was caught in the field. The farmer chased him away and struck him several times before he managed to run to the river.
When they met again at the riverbank, Juno grinned. "Sorry about that. Singing after eating is just my habit."
Kamil said nothing. He simply allowed Juno to climb onto his back for the journey home.
Halfway across the river, Kamil stopped.
"What are you doing?" cried Juno.
"My friend," said Kamil calmly, "after a long meal and a long walk, I have a habit too."
"What habit?"
"I always take a bath in the middle of the river."
Before Juno could protest, Kamil lowered himself into the water. Splash!
The jackal fell into the river and struggled to swim. He barely managed to reach the shore, soaked from head to tail.
When he climbed onto
the bank, he looked at Kamil and understood what had happened.
"I see," said Juno quietly. "Just as my habit caused trouble for you, your habit caused trouble for me."
Kamil nodded. "A true friend thinks about how his actions affect others."
From that day on, Juno stopped howling after meals, and the two friends learned to treat each other with greater care and respect.
**Moral:** If you cause trouble for others, don't be surprised when trouble comes back to you. True friendship requires consideration and kindness.
