# Pride Hath a Fall Once there was a peacock named Percy who lived in a beautiful forest. Percy had bright, colorful feathers and loved showing them off. He would often tell the other animals, "No one is as beautiful as I am!"

He laughed at the sparrows for their plain feathers and mocked the ducks for their awkward walk. The animals became sad and avoided him. One day, the King of the forest announced a grand dance competition. Percy was sure he would win. "Victory is already mine," he boasted. When the competition began, Percy spread his feathers proudly and danced carelessly. Because he was paying more attention to showing off than to dancing, he slipped on a wet rock and fell into a muddy pond. The audience gasped, and Percy felt embarrassed. Meanwhile, a humble crane named Clara danced gracefully and won the competition. Seeing Percy's sadness, Clara kindly helped him out of the pond. Percy realized that beauty and pride were not as important as kindness and humility. He apologized to the other animals and promised never to boast again. From that day onward, Percy treated everyone with respect, and he gained many true friends. **Moral:** Pride comes before a fall. Humility and kindness are greater than pride and boasting.
